A Toggle Clamp is a tool that you use to securely locate components or parts in position, typically, but not exclusively, as part of a production process. The primary features of a Toggle Clamp are that Toggle Clamps lock in position securely and are quick acting, they can be quickly turned on and off by an operator. In the manufacturing industry, workpieces often require the use of a toggle clamp. It will secure the workpiece so that it remains stationary while being worked on. Manufacturing companies can then cut and drill the workpiece without worrying about it moving around.

Toggle clamps are commonly used to hold workpieces in place. They are known as “toggle clamps” because they have a manually operated handle connected to a clamp that you “toggle” by pushing it down or pulling it up. Some types will use a trigger mechanism, whereby the jaws are adjusted using a trigger or lever. Alternatively, some types have a traditional screw which adjusts the clamp. When the screw is rotated, the clamp closes around the workpiece and pressure is applied to keep it firmly in place.

Horizontal handle toggle clamps mount to work surfaces and hold workpieces in place with a lever handle that lays flat when the clamp is engaged. The lever locks a rubber stopper in place against the work surface, securing objects tightly for drilling, welding, milling, or woodworking applications.
