The DEWALT 70 amp rolling charger is a jumpstarter, battery charger and maintainer all in one. It features a 70 amp continous charge or a 210 amp starting charge, and has a patented alternator check function, two USB outlets, one 120V AC outlet, and a reverse polarity alarm in case the clamps are hooked up incorrectly to the battery. While the battery chargers can only be used to charge car batteries, you can still use the Jump-Start power banks to charge other electrical devices, such as your smartphone, tablet, camera or laptop. Even larger consumers, such as car air compressors, can be supplied with power.

A jump starter can also be used to charge a car battery. They are, however, very different products. Jump starters have their own batteries and do not need to be plugged into a socket. This means that they can be used anywhere, but they do not offer unlimited power. They allow you to start your vehicle without having to call and wait for roadside assistance to come to you or ask a passerby to help jump start your vehicle. Jump starters work by using a special high current Lithium-Ion battery to provide enough power to start your engine. The most obvious advantage of a jump starter is the fact that it eliminates the need to find someone to loan their car to be used as a host vehicle, which is required when using booster cables. This advantage isn’t just about the hassle of having to find someone willing to help you. It is also a safety consideration.

Most jump starters are powered with a sealed lead acid battery, and they come in various sizes so you can start engines of different sizes. Some come with additional features, like a small light, a USB port to charge portable devices and an air compressor to inflate flat tires. A battery maintainer is essentially a small battery charger that sends small amounts of energy to your battery. Doing so lets the battery sit for long periods of time without any activity and lets the battery retain a full charge. They can also help extend the life of your battery by preventing damage to your battery. Storing a jump starter in the car is perfectly fine, especially with the newer lithium-ion batteries that are much more compact than the older, bigger lead-acid jump starters. There’s no safety risk, although extremely cold temperatures may weaken the battery, so make sure that you check your jump starter regularly.
