Air velocity sensors are capable of a variety of measurements, including but not limited to air velocity. In addition, they can measure air temperature, humidity, and pressure. The magnet of the velocity sensor is suspended on a membrane (spring) which moves through a coil of wire. Due to the vibration, the coil of wire moves through the magnetic field of the permanent magnet and generates (induces) a voltage signal which is proportional to the vibration (velocity).

Air Velocity Sensor(Range: 0 to 5/10/15 m/s Selectable with 4-20mA Transmission) for Pharmaceutical Clean Rooms, HVAC Model: Siemens QVM 62.1. For some chambers, the air velocity can be controlled by the mixing fan inside the chamber, while for other chambers that have no special design for controlling air velocity over the material surface, the air velocity in the test chamber is directly related to the chamber flow rate (Zhang et al., 2002). 1. n. [Production Logging] A two-dimensional display, using colors or different gray scales, of the bubble velocity around the borehole against depth.

To calculate air velocity in pneumatic conveying systems, you can divide the volumetric air flow rate in m3/s by the passing section of the pipe in m2. The velocity of air through an air valve can be very large, as it is only limited by the speed of sound. What is the maximum velocity of air into or out of an air valve? At 60 degrees F, the sonic velocity limit is approximately 340 meters per second, or 1115 feet per second.
