Door sensors are devices that let you know when someone has opened a door. Most are a type of contact sensor that uses a reed switch and magnet. When the door is closed, the magnet keeps the reed switch circuit closed. The door sensors consist of two parts: a sensor and a magnet. With door sensor security systems in place, when garage doors or vehicle doors are opened, the magnet detaches from the sensor. This movement releases a metal reed switch within the door sensor, triggering the alarm system or alert.
A door alarm sensor is a magnetic device which triggers an intrusion detection alarm control panel when a door is open or closed. It comes in two parts, a magnet and a switch. The magnet is secured to the door, and the switch is connected to a wire running back to the control panel. By installing automatic door sensors, you limit the amount of time that doors remain open, thereby preserving indoor temperature and conserving the energy needed to maintain it. Many door activation sensors are also very energy efficient in themselves, consuming very little energy to operate efficiently.
Door and window sensors are contact sensors composed of two main parts that are a magnet and a sensor. This is also called a magnetic switch. The magnet itself is generally placed on the door while the sensor is installed on the door frame. The Reed Sensor senses this motion and activates the locking motion. Reed Sensors have been an excellent choice carrying out this function in a reliable manner.
