Infrared Eyes for Energy Saving and Comfort! Panasonic Grid Eye Sensor. Infrared image can be detected using two-dimensional Infrared Array Sensor of high sensitivity, and the area temperature distribution can be output by operation IC inside sensor. The Grid-EYE® Sensor works in tandem with software to identify the number and position of people based on their body temperature, outputting a thermal data image and recognizes where appropriate distancing or density is or isn’t maintained.
The three most common types of photo eye sensors are through-beam, reflective and retro-reflective. Infrared temperature sensors sense electromagnetic waves in the 700 nm to 14,000 nm range. While the infrared spectrum extends up to 1,000,000 nm, infrared temperature sensors do not measure above 14,000 nm. These sensors work by focusing the infrared energy emitted by an object onto one or more photodetectors.
Infrared waves have longer wavelengths than visible light and can pass through dense regions of gas and dust in space with less scattering and absorption. Thus, infrared energy can also reveal objects in the universe that cannot be seen in visible light using optical telescopes.
