Extremely heavy duty castors for business machines & store fixtures forged top plate with hardened CNC machined raceways Kingpinless construction. Very low overall height. Low profile casters are ideal for applications which require a low clearance height. These casters are great for copiers, refrigeration units, and other heavy equipment which may not move often. The low clearance keeps the product’s center of gravity closer to the ground and does not render the product unusable.

A caster (also castor according to some dictionaries) is a wheeled device typically mounted to a larger object that enables relatively easy rolling movement of the object. Casters are essentially special housings that include a wheel, facilitating the installation of wheels on objects. A caster (or castor) is an undriven wheel that is designed to be attached to the bottom of a larger object (the “vehicle”) to enable that object to be moved. There are two basic styles of casters: swivel or rigid. The style of caster that is best for you depends on the level of maneuverability your piece of equipment needs.

A wheel is a circular component that is intended to rotate on an axle bearing. The wheel is one of the key components of the wheel and axle which is one of the six simple machines. Caster is the angle that identifies the forward or backward slope of a line that is drawn through the upper and lower steering pivot points. It does not affect tire wear, but caster does have an influence on the directional control of the steering. Caster is the measure of how far forward or behind the steering axis is to the vertical axis, viewed from the side. This is measured by drawing a line between the top and bottom pivot points of the front upright. The angle between the drawn line and vertical is the caster angle.
