    A pneumatic cylinder is a mechanical device that converts compressed air energy into a reciprocating linear motion. A double-acting cylinder uses compressed. Pneumatic cylinders, also known as pneumatic actuators, are the products used to provide linear or rotary motion and force to automated systems, machines and processes, for example in industrial applications. The pneumatic cylinder converts the pressure energy of a compressed air medium into mechanical energy in the form of linear or rotary motion.

    The most common pneumatic cylinder materials include: Stainless Steel. Nickel plated brass. Aluminium. Pneumatics makes use of an air compressor to reduce the volume of the air in order to increase its pressure. This then moves through a filter into pneumatic tubing, where it’s controlled by valves before reaching an actuator which does the work at the end of the process. The cylinder is made of metal and is sealed shut.

    It contains a piston that moves up and down, compressing the fuel, which ignites and causes combustion. There are two valves at the top of the cylinder; an inlet valve and an outlet valve. Pneumatic cylinder uses air as its power source and converts it to a possible movement such as linear and rotary movement. In order to control the pneumatic cylinder, controller algorithm is needed to control the on-off solenoid valve with encoder and pressure sensor as the feedback inputs.
