Due to the working principle the sensitivity is lower than on dynamic Ring Sensors. Applications include Freefall applications to detect the presence of metal objects, count metal parts or ejection control in punch- ing/ stamping applications, wire breakage and avoid unwanted metal objects in grinding operations. In inductive ring sensors, the sensing area is located inside the ring. These sensors are designed to detect metallic masses entering or passing through the ring. They are ideal for sensing, counting and checking of small metal parts such as: screws, washers, nuts etc.

Inductive Ring Sensors are proximity sensors used for counting small objects, wire monitoring, or rod placement. These sensors detect when objects enter the circular hole in the center. Models are available with a 1-shot output, and are available in AC, NPN or PNP outputs. Ring uses Z-Wave technology to securely send signals between devices around your home and the Base Station. The range for Z-Wave communication is up to 250 feet between the Base Station and the security device, however, a number of factors may impact that range.

The Ring Alarm Contact Sensor (1st gen) uses one CR123A battery. How long does the battery last? The battery can last up to three years, depending on use. Note: You do not not need to take down the entire device in order to replace the battery. An inductive sensor is a device that uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to detect or measure objects. An inductor develops a magnetic field when an electric current flows through it; alternatively, a current will flow through a circuit containing an inductor when the magnetic field through it changes.
