A temperature sensor is a device used to measure temperature. This can be air temperature, liquid temperature or the temperature of solid matter. There are different types of temperature sensors available and they each use different technologies and principles to take the temperature measurement. Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) Thermistors. Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs) Thermocouples.
    Semiconductor-Based Sensors.

Semiconductor based temperature sensor ICs come in two different types: local temperature sensor and remote digital temperature sensor. Local temperature sensors are ICs that measure their own die temperature by using the physical properties of a transistor. Temperature sensors are utilized to monitor various environments and machinery, power plants, and manufacturing. Temperature sensors are used to measure water temperatures in reservoirs and boreholes. They can also be used to interpret temperature-related stress and changes in volume in dams.

A temperature sensor is a device that is designed to measure the degree of hotness or coolness in an object. The working of a temperature meter depends upon the voltage across the diode. The temperature change is directly proportional to the diode’s resistance. Infrared temperature sensors measure temperature by focusing the amount of infrared radiation emitted from an object onto sensors, which convert it to an electrical signal. The amount of infrared energy emitted from an object is directly proportional to its temperature.
